Pat Ryan

I know he has been off Titans game for a few years but I miss hearing Pat with Mike. What is he doing now?

I miss him too. I think he's working out of Knoxville doing sports, but that's more than I know. 104.5 did a Titans retrospetive a few months back, which HAD to include his great "He's got something" call. (If this sounds sarcastic, IT IS NOT. Mike's call would have been great, but Pat made it probably the best call in the Titans past or history.)

Everyone I heard comment on 104.5 remarked how much they liked Pat. So I wrote Mike Keith (having no idea how to get in touch with Pat himself) that "I really miss Pat Ryan." I included that twice for em-PHA-sis.

Pat owns a construction/contracting business in Knoxville and occasionally appears on the various sports shows in Knoxville, but largely focuses on his business now. Even when he was doing color for Titans Radio, he was doing the construction stuff full-time. He appeared by phone on the "McNair Memories" show that Titans Radio produced in the wake of the murder.

Mike spoke to a student group at UT that I was in right after they made the change. He said that the reason for the change was that ownership wanted the color person to be someone who lived in Nashville and could do appearances during the week. I got the feeling at the time that he would have preferred to keep Pat, but he certainly couldn't say so.

Obviously, Pat was vastly superior to Wycheck in the booth.

As was mentioned above, he's busy with his construction business in Knoxville. He does an hour-long "Monday Morning QB" segment on 99.1/990 in Knoxville on Monday mornings. He used to to color commentary for the Vol Network PPV TV broadcasts, but he gave that up this season to watch his son play QB for Austin-Peay. Pat was also a dedicated Tennessee Softball fan and follower when his daughter played on the back-to-back-to-back College World Series teams.

Hell of a nice guy.
