Patch, the roving DJ

In the 60s and 70s, there used to be a weekend brokered show on various west coast border blasters called "Patch, the roving DJ." It usually aired on a Friday or Saturday night overnight.

It was hosted by a guy named Patch, whom I understand wore a patch over one eye. He would take a hand-held tape recorder around various "sailor shops" in the Long Beach area, when Long Beach still had a navy presence, and chat with people, and ask them what song they wanted to hear. Then the requested song would be edited into the show.

He was last heard, at least by me, in the early 80s, once again brokering a weekend show, pretty much doing the same schtick (sp), only this time billing himself as:

Patch, the gay DJ.

Anyone know of his present-dayness?
