Patrick Bradley - Under The Sun

Here's one that should satisfy all keyboard lovers taste. I tend to agree with some of the noodling, doodling, moodling comments made about the likes of Culbertson and Harisim and Fritzen. This one folks is off the charts!!! Fell in love with his first project and have been wearing out his sophomore release for the last 24 hours. I have to keep reminding myself that he is playing the keys as it is a unified sound of all the instruments. Lorber all over it playing everything. Time and Chance is my fav so far but that is hard to peg down when I like the whole cd. Saaaaaaaamokin!! These are good times as there is more unknown new artsits out now with incredible new projects!

Agreed. While I am perfectly OK with the Harasim and Fritzen offerings (different style altogether), the Lorber influence/sound is very apparent on this one. "Time And Chance" is terrific. "Straight Path" is also quite nice, and "Into The Sunset" has a bit of that Chris Geith/TWC vibe going on. Also like how the guest artists shine on their respective tracks...Koz in the downtempo "Just Let Go," Braun's dirty trumpet and flugelhorn in "Slipstream," and Marienthal's telltale sax sound in "Crows On The Lawn". Tremendous vibe throughout. Another winner, for sure!

Now if only these CDs you talk about sold some copies-according to Sound Scan the numbers for these releases are very low-And I mean low
So it's obvious people aren't hearing the music, aren't exposed to it or it's just not on anybodies radar. That isn't a comment on good or bad it's just a fact.
The first thing that would help is if these guys started to play live somewhere

I'm doing my part. Know for a fact I am selling music. Probably not enough to register on soundscan. Every little bit helps.

If there were 50 more of you it might make a difference-Also you never hear anything about these artists. They don't work the web,Facebook,Twitter etc. You may not
like to hear that but it is a necessity these day.

Does SoundScan reflect the number of electronic downloads? I haven't bought any new CD's in years (other than OOP stuff that is not available electronically) and I've actually purchased 100's just over the past year.

All about the social networks. Work it very hard with my show.

Liking what I've heard so far. Great to hear somebody play a keyboard instead of "caressing" it. Equally great to hear
someone who doesn't want to be Culbertson..we've got Culbie clones up the la-la right now.

Listened to the whole CD finally. This is the goods! A real contemporary jazz (not smooth jazz) CD that is melodic and accessible enough to appeal to the smooth crowd but has a lot of meat on its bones. This will go down as one of the year's best releases. Not a single weak track on it. A must play, must buy, must listen!

I listened to some of the songs earlier as well, great stuff from Patrick. Really enjoy the music from him. A lot better than a lot of the music that is out there today.
