Patriot Nation adds a new CT affiliate

Those who live in Greenwich, Stamford can now hear The New England Patriots on WGCH 1490--starting with tonight's season opener against Buffalo. This makes the 4th CT station to air the Pats. The others...

1350 WINY Putnam
104.7 WXLM New London
106.9 WCCC Hartford

I tuned in and was shocked to hear them on WGCH. Their website confirms it. But their signal sounds like a phone call signal.

Greenwich?? Really? I wonder how many people actually listened? That's deep in the heart of Giants/Jets country.

That's the same station that carries The Boston Redsox.

And why is the pre-game 3 hours long? It makes me mad that I can't listen to WAQY on game day. I remember it was the same way as when WZMX carried the games in Hartford.

in answer to that question WGCH can choose to do the 3 hours of pre game and the 3 hours of post game show on the network. I should have put my resume for WGCH. if the setup is the same as WIKE, if their STL (I believe thats how you pronounce it.) is non fuctional, there is an emergency number I could call to have it cued up on phone AUX. Does WGCH even have an STL? I used to board op the Patriots on WIKE actually commuting all the way from Greenwich to Derby center VT the times I was on vacation from lydon for Holidays and breaks. I miss it especially having to call the WBCN board ops asking what segue we were in so I know to fire the shotgun button for local adds

Some of us ex-New Englanders who live & work in the NYC area appreciate WGCH's efforts carrying the Sox, and now the Pats.

WGCH's daytime signal does a pretty good job covering both Nassau & Suffolk counties.

Curious to see who they carry when Sox & Pats games conflict on Sundays....
