Patriots Football on WDRC (AM)

Today's Patriots Football game is being broadcast on WDRC 1360. I don't know how they're picking up the game, but it sounds awful. I'm not a fan of the team, but 1360 is the last station the radio was on because we were listening to their "Big D" show this morning. That sounded crystal clear. BTW is WTIC paying WDRC to carry the game? WTIC carries both the Giants and Patriots. Both are playing at the same time today so The Giants are on WTIC.

Who carried yesterday's Red Sox game? I tried 1080 and found UConn (from the Who Cares Conference) football, but rather than scanning the FM bamd I just caught the Yankees call on WUCS. Was there any Hartford station carrying the Sox Saturday afternoon?

I don't understand why CBS is so adamant about never breaking format on its music FMs, even on weekends. Sports spillover finds its way onto music FMs in other markets, why not here?

Don't know. First I'm not a Redsox fan and secondly I was home sick from work yesterday and slept most of the day. I remember last year when the SOX were in last place there were games they didn't carry when there were conflicts with other teams.

Back in the day I remember them doing UCONN Men on 1080, UCONN Women on 96.5, and Whalers on 93.7 when all 3 were playing at the same time.

Strange! I was at New Britain Stadium and only checked their game on WAQY-FM 102.1 (Rock 102) from Springfield, MA. WUCS-FM 97.9 of Windsor Locks/Hartford (97.9-ESPN) aired the Bengals vs Steelers game and then the Buccaneers vs Cardinals game. Of course, had WPOP-AM 1410 of Hartford not changed their format a while back, it could've just aired there.

Well, for the southern part of the listening area, there's WQUN 1220 Hamden. But I remember tuning to WHYN 560 Springfield for Sox games that weren't on 'TIC back in the day. Now the FM station the Sox are on in the Springfield area doesn't even make it into most of the Hartford area.
