Paul Christy gets Coxed

Maybe KODA can ax that terrible VT in Afternoon Drive and put Paul in that timeslot.

KODA has foregone JT in the afternoons and now has Marc Sherman doing the afternoon slot, tracked, I'm nearly positive, given Marc's other responsibilities at CC. I haven't spoken with him in quite some time to know for sure, but I do know that Dana is doing mornings by herself, these days, (taking the show more towards Food Network on radio) and Marc's bio has been updated to reflect that he "did mornings with Dana for 4 years," with all morning references now in past tense.

Radio keeps getting sadder and sadder by the day. Good luck to Paul and best wishes, wherever he lands.

I guess it shows how long it has been since I have listened to KODA. I did not realize that. Marc's a good guy. I'm sure he needed more time to do all of his duties that CC has stuck him with these days. Marc and Dana had no chemistry, like Weaver and Dana used to. Having an actual Houston person tracking the show, is a little better than having someone from Birmingham, Alabama track the show (as JT was).

As far as Paul goes, if he's still doing his "Eric Chase" gig on XM's 70's channel, I haven't heard him lately. I'll confess I listen to Sirius a whole lot more, but I have also read where they are downsizing their staff now that they have officially merged. The Decades channels will only be served by one satellite service. Right now, XM has their own staff on the 60's, 70's, 80's channels and Sirius has their own. Very soon, they will merge into one channel from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. I actually hope they keep the XM people, because the music is much better and they go deeper with the music. But, I have a feeling, they will keep the Sirius staff, since it is Mel Karmazin running the operations for both channels now and is more familiar with the Sirius staff.

Cox made him give up the XM gig, and with the Sirius decades channels moving to XM in a week or two, it's a safe bet that window is closed. I hear he is working on a syndication deal, though.
