I saw in the paper today that Memphis broadcasting pioneer Paul Dorman has died. Many of you old timers probably remember his time on WREC-TV.

"Good Morning from Memphis" was on WREG-TV, hosted by Olin Morris and Frances Kelley. Paul Dorman did the news and weather.

This was long before "Wake-Up Call" was on WMC-TV, hosted by Dick Hawley and Peggy Rolfes.

Boy, how local morning news and information has changed. Now it's all about weather and traffic every 10 minutes.

A gentleman and a gentle man. I consider it a privilege to have known and worked with this good man. Following is a close approximation of Paul's sign-off for many years when he worked the evening news:

"I hope your day has been a good day and that tomorrow will be even better."

Bless you, Paul.
