Paul Gonzalez subbing on 820-WWBA

Back to talk radio here, Paul Gonzalez, that great host that used to have a national show and who has hosted other shows on Tampa talk radio, has been doing Dan York's a.m. show this week.

He sounds great. Listeners have called in saying they wish they could hear him regularly on the radio again.

Gonzalez has good interviews. He does some politics, but goes after both sides. He doesn't appear to be a "the liberals/ conservatives are always wrong" type of host.

This is the kind of talk radio I grew up listening to in the 1980s- general talk radio. Of course, we had our political hosts that expressed their opinions - like Bob Lassiter and David Gold (Dallas) - but the whole station wasn't a political mouthpiece.

He will be perfect for the station if they ever have equal time laws again.... He can put anyone to sleep... ZZZZZZZ I remember him from WFLA back in their music days. Then there was the End of good radio. WEND.

Paul is awsome. I love his show and have loved his show for years.

I would love to see him in the soon to be vacated 12:00 till 2:00 time slot.

Paul Gonzalez, one of the nicest people in the biz and a superb talent!

Yeah, he's a great guy. He said he's been subbing at WWBA for some years. I guess I missed his other shows.

What was his local show like in the past? I heard his PRN- Chuck Harder network show, which was good. I'm assuming his other local show was like his national show, in terms of conversation topic and not all-politics all the time.

Paul was great on WSB in Atlanta, that's where Bruce Maduri heard him. He tracked him down a few years back. Paul was on when the hurricanes of 2004 came through. He was on all night when one of the storms was threatening Tampa and was a calm voice in the night. They should consider putting Paul on at night or midday. I love the weird stories that he reports on.

Speaking of Chuck Harder... is he still doing radio? I know he had some very serious health issues. Last I heard him he was on the SAP secondary audio channel of Channel 38 TV. I know he was operating from a studio near Englewood Florida, or has he moved back to his northern Florida home along the river?

Thanks for the link.

Chuck Harder joined TalkStar® Radio line up with the promise of renewing his radio fight for a NEW MORNING IN AMERICA with even greater vigor, because he believes his message is needed more now than ever before. No radio program in the history of broadcasting has ever done more to help people and strengthen the fiber of this Country then has Chuck's.

Mr. Harder wants to see JOB'S COME BACK to America. Chuck says, "We have lost 20 million good high- paying jobs as our government encourages factories to move offshore and fire the USA workers. Two government agencies; The Overseas Private Investment Corporations and the USA Agency For International Development actually help factories move. We must bring the factories back so we can have a "value-added" economy and be able to pay our international debts. We are now the world's largest debtor nation and it used to be the other way around before "Free Trade."

Mr. Harder concludes, "Our mission is to restore America and protect the working family. This is done by raising awareness of the issues affecting us and then in turn those in Washington will eventually hear our pleas.

If not for anything else but for the above, that makes Chuck perhaps the greatest radio host ever.
He isn't some Limbaugh clone (he preceded Rush) and at one time had one of the largest U.S. talk radio shows.

Did Rush ever fight for getting American jobs back? Nope. He thought TVs were made in America while he bashed Ross Perot.

Comical - Ignorant, but comical.
Funny how both those terms - plus the words irresponsible and unprofessional - describe you. You're the one that said one of this market's leading on-air personalities would lose his job in Clear Channel cuts.

For you to come out and call for the cutting of a current on-air personality before he was even axed marks the height of arrogance.
