The last time I heard the Harvey noon show, sometime last week, it was Ron Chapman.
I gotta say...he has a similar style to Paul, and it wasn't as rattling as it has been hearing other folks fill in for the master (Thompson, in particular).
The bad news? The format and show likely ends when Mr. Harvey hangs it up, or passes from this mortal coil.
I'm sure Citadel would like to find a way to continue it, and may even do so for a while with Chapman or whomever. But the long-form "Paul Harvey News" is only still alive today because Mr. Harvey is, and no matter how good Ron Chapman is (he's a long-time Dallas radio pro), he won't be able to keep advertisers that are solely aboard for Mr. Harvey's endorsement. And affiliates will dump the show the day PH is no longer going to be doing it, or won't come back, or passes on.
A prediction: Citadel will continue to syndicate the "Rest of the Story" as a feature, with stuff Mr. Harvey has already done, and his son eventually taking that over in full.
