Paul Harvey, The Legend

I was just noticing that since Mr Harvey's passing, no one has bother to post any reply, although many have read the post. I wonder if they all have the same opinion of Paul Harvey that I have. I do not intend any disrepect of the deceased, but I found his radio show very annoying, especially since he blurred the line seperating advertising from those corny, folksy, news articles that seemed to come out of the nursing home edition of some country gossip column. It seemed like his show was a series of info-testimonials about whatever sham product or service threw money at him, interrupted by 'fluff'. I never could understand why he was supposedly so popular or why some listeners held him on a pedestal almost equal to Walter Cronkite's? But then again, some people live out their entire lives eating only white bread.

Well, 1st of 5, if you were more intelligent, you would have realized by now that Paul Harvey was one of the greatest broadcast communicators who ever lived. It was the way he weaved those "folksy stories" in with his commercial endorsements that made his delivery SO unique, not to mention his wonderful voice. Look at it this way, 1st of 5; if a man CANNOT be replaced very easily once they're gone, than, it should be obvious to even someone like you with limited intelligence, that what he did was very special. Those chosen to replace him by ABC News (Mike Huckabee; Gil Gross; Doug Limerick), as good as they all are, will NEVER replace the great Paul Harvey. You can crawl back into your hole now, 1st of 5; I'm done.

I thought Paul Harvey was great from the time I started listening to him in the 60s. His presentation style was as unique as his personality.

Forgive me, Herr Austingeezer, for not replying to your rant sooner, but I was in Western Europe stimulating their economy with my severance pay. It appears that anyone whose opinion differs from yours or doesn't goosestep in the proper sequence in the slave race parade is automatically labeled by your junta. We don't all have to like the same things, people or music, as evidenced by the continuing saga of the beleaguered and misunderstood KTFM. In my country we still have freedom of expression and speech. For the last eight years a great many exercised that right, but now we can't say anything to offend all of those poor, defenseless and oversensitive idol worshipers. My, how things change. I guess in your Reich, its ok to bad mouth one guy, but not one who some may have annointed. But then again, the capital of my Republic is world known its eccentric vegetable life. If you're looking for limited intelligence, look in your own backyard. Double ungood bellythought!
