I just wanted to let you all to know that former radio personality, but more importantly, exemplary human being, Paul Lemieux, has passed away after a battle with ALS at 64. Paul worked at AAF, COZ & ZLX before going back to school for computers and becoming an IT expert.
I was interning for Paul at COZ the day that "kick ass rock & roll" ended and came in one day to find him dubbing the Pointer Sisters for their early, failed HOT AC experiment. As their Music Director, he took it all in stride and then recommended me for a paid board op position at AM 1510 WMRE. I was able to do the same for him and we worked for years together at ZLX, where he created their web site and then took to computers like no one we had ever seen.
Later, he became the IT guy for many of us, building computers & fixing problems--as well as a music resource--Paul knew all hit music. He could clean up vinyl better than anyone I knew! More importantly, he was a good friend with an amazing wit, sense of humor, endless compassion. This is a human being who will be missed by all who met him. -Barry
