By the time you read this, the first week of Paul Marshall's reign as afternoon drive and MD at KQRC will be over. Kansas City is fortunate to have him as he is extremely talented and knowledgeable and is dedicated to the profession as much as anyone I have ever seen. Enjoy!

Agreed, Neanderpol is a great jock and I'm sure he will make a difference in KC. We already miss him in Boston!

If he's what big city east coast talent sounds like...you can keep him. Look at me..I can yell into the mic and make lame comments about the news. The weekender they had doing that shift sounded better.

Thanks For Listening!

Lame comments? That's painful.

Damn. Guess I'll quit now. :)

Thanks for listening!

Re: Thanks For Listening!

Re: Thanks For Listening!

Don't know any of you folks, but (other than having a taste for barbeque) why would anyone go from Boston to Kansas City?

Other than better weather overall...Better cost of living...Better Rock radio?

...oh yeah, and I got fired by Entercom, hired by CBS two hours later, and they didn't have anything full time for me when Entercom offered me one of the prime Afternoon Drivetime / Music Director gigs, at one of the premiere Rock stations in America. So, I'm here. Plus I get to see my Raiders once a season :)

Market size has never equated with the quality of radio. I've heard great radio in Omaha, and crap radio in L.A. Anyone who has done this for a long time will echo that sentiment.

I certainly would agree with you there. Keep in mind also that the size of your paycheck is more important than the size your market. We have, or at least used to have, jocks in Mid-MO who made more than some of their counterparts in Kansas City and St. Louis. Some people criticized them and their ambition for not wanting to leave the market, but I never could blame them, especially if they liked the area.
