paul mccartney

paul was great last night, still at the age of 67.was anyone else there?
he started with "drive my car" then went into some new stuff.but then got into the usual beatle stuff." a day in the life, give peace a chance" and more beatle songs.during "something" a lady in front of me had to sit down and weep(touching).he did 4 songs from" band on the run".finished up with "live and let die(which was probably heard all over town),let it be and hey hude.
i saw a rerun on a news show early this moring, they were reporting 40,000 and the noon news today are saying 38,000.both are wrong.
the floor was full , when you look up around the staduim seating its hard to find empty seats.id say at least 70,000
i dont know how many encores there were, we got out early and were out in no time.
i took my 28 year old son who is a music lover.awesome.

What school system taught you punctuation bty ?

So what was it 70k or 40k ? ? ?

I was not there, but someone else said:

Paul was great but the sound at the stadium was terrible. The reverb totally dominated the opening act and far into Paul's performance. After awhile the sound was cleaned up to a point but still muddied Paul's sound -- except for his solo performances. For up to $250 per ticket, plus parking, plus all of the service charges, I expected more. Opening the roof would have made a big difference.

------
So besides being gaga over Paul Mc. .... who else thought the sound in the Billion Dollar Stadium was lacking ? ? ? ?

Didn't they have reverb and echo issues during George Strait's concert?

Guess JJ and friends need to stick to sports and leave music to places better suited to it.

For 1+ billion, there shouldn't be *any* issues...

Well after the concert Paul came over and we knocked back a few lagers. He said the sound ya know was not so good,it was terrible. Did the local airport schedule(pronounced shed -jull) airplanes nearby? Besides He liked "Hey Hude". :D

$5

When the Beatles first played Los Angeles, tickets were available through KFWB and KRLA for ... $5.

My dad would not spring for the tickets because he hated their hair.

this board and the Dallas paper blog KILL me. It was the THIRD concert EVER at this brand new venue. Here's a supersecretbonus piece of info : Sound SUCKS at stadiums. The ushers and concession folks arent upt o speed because they have had FIVE events there. I wish I could go to a show with 40,000 people and not stand in line to get in, not sweat during August in Texas, have $1 beer, and a bathroom next to my seat... It's GONNA BE CROWDED, THERE'S GONNA be TRAFFIC, and on AUG 19 IN TEXAS, ITS GONNA BE HOT. get the f..k over it

the sound was like my cerwen vegas at home. i guess it depended on your seating.
gee dissappointing some of you guys cant grip.
what would of been extremely extraordinary opening of the roof during something like "hey jude".
my son and i will be talking about this for a longtime.
what else i can say is more people were there than they are letting on.

You are bi**hing about something that you don't even have your own opinion on? Please stop with the internet tough guy act. This is not 5th grade, you dont put people down to make yourself feel better. And the last time i checked, schools dont teach you to space out your '?' after your thought/question.

I thought the act was good. How many times am I (who is 26) going to be able to hear a legend?

"I thought the act was good. How many times am I (who is 26) going to be able to hear a legend?"
You are reading from some who were/havebeen/are on the air in DFW. Some are "legends" As for the Paul McCartney concert. Besides the ones who posted here, there have been others who didn't post and went..the sound was" reverberating" 'Too much bass' Couldn't hear the vocals clear enough" are the majority opinions. If you charge $125.00 for a couple to attend ,excluding the parking costs, etc. You best have the sound ready to go,regardless new stadium or not. They had two soccer matches ,a very big country concert, and plenty of time to do soundchecks day and night to assure all is well. There are no excuses It has been open for a little over 2 months...no excuses. Next rasie the damn scoreboard ,that is ridiculous to be that low. Jerry sez he won't . Betcha he will by Halloween.

I do agree that they should be working harder to get it 100% too. Good point. I feel as if they rushed the opening of the stadium a weeee bit.

i wonder if sir paul was disappointed the big screen was not on?i was. hows that for punctuation?
mccartney does not like to have his picture taken.i had my cell phone rolling when an "event personal" stopped meh.

you get over 600 views and only 3 or 4 serious responders.perhaps more people will have something to say when he dies.
they'll write their memorials, play their tributes and make their money.

yes the stadium is beautiful inside.they should put a big hole in the middle of the big screen to help the punters out.

Yeah, and my Mother and her "P.T.A." 'friends' tried to pass off on their kids the line that The Beatles "were just a fad".... "and so get over it".....

Yeah... just a "fad" that has lasted for over 40 years now....

She lost all her street cred with me on that one ! ! ! :>

As for the sound in stadium sounding better in some areas than others.... that is very true. So what is the "sweet spot" for sound in the new stadium ? ? ? I do not know....

As for getting Sir Paul McCartney to perform in the new Billion Dollar stadium....

Heck, I would have singed him on ---even if the stadium sound operations were not tweaked yet--- IT'S PAUL MCCARTNEY !!!!! A LIVING LEGEND !!!!!

----------------------------

By the time the SuperBowl rolls around to the stadium in 2011.... EVERYTHING will be tweaked to Perfection for the Headlining act

THE JONAS BROS.

I still have my Beatles ticket from Fulton Co. Stadium - $4.50 That was TWO weeks allowance!
