Is Paul Parent's Sunday morning gardening talk show syndicated in the area or just on WTKK 96.9?
Since WRKO has dropped the last two hours of Jim Zappo's gardening show on Sunday morning I have been turning on 96.9.
Parent used to be on WRKO and I remember that in some arrangement Pat Whitely was supposed to handle Paul Parent's radio syndication but the whole thing ended up with the two suing each other.
The only bad thing I have heard on Parent's show is a poor production quality. They have bumper music that sounds like someone coughing off mike and several times this morning it sounded as though the station bleeped Parent off the air when he mentioned where he would be making a personal appearance.
I think Jim Zappo is more of an environmentalist. He prefers natural and organic gardening products to Paul Parent's free use of chemicals from Bayer and some of his other sponsors.
Frankly, I think WRKO made a mistake is dumping that last two hours of Jim Zappo in favor of a paid investment show that sounds canned and phony. Doesn't add much to RKO credibility.
