Paul "The Wall's" final day at KFI

An era of morning radio in Los Angeles ended this morning when due to familial responsibilities he will be returning to Guam. He was a major contributer to the parody songs and other bits which were some of the funniest I have ever had the pleasure to hear in my lifetime anywhere I have lived. I will never forget his voice characterizations in which anyone from the Middle East or India and Pakistan all sounded like the guy behind the counter at my neighborhood Seven Eleven.

God's speed Paul

Too bad, the music he picked was always interesting...for instance he used "Flock of Seagulls" music to bumper the story about the tiger attack at Tippie Hedron's animal santuary...(she was in the movie "the Birds".)

He always seemed to pick the right music to fit the mood and presentation of the news. Sometime they were a bit obscure but if you were in on it, as you were, they were always right on. He seemed to be familiar with all genres of music which is why he would know just the right selection. For all of that he will be sorely missed.

Agreed... Paul's music selection was a part of the growth of Handel in the Morning. There were times when (especially in the 5AM hour) Bill would let a bumper play just a little bit longer because the music kicked. He also ran a very tight board and I'd always laugh when he cursed the computer playback for stalling and making him look bad.
