Paul Williams leaving WLBT

Here is the rest of the story. The Chief Meteorologist for WPTY died sometime back as reported on the National TV board. Paul Williams is taking the Job at WPTY to replace the Chief Meteorologist who died. If you can remember back a while (2001) Paul Williams took over the noon report from Woody Assaf when Woody retired in 2001. Anyone from the Memphis board who can fill in some more details have at it.

This morning Micheal Haynes was on the WLBT 5AM report. I don't know whether he is doing double duty or is the permanent replacement. Stay tuned.

I'm from the Memphis board.

The Chief weather guy at WPTY, Mark Walden, passed away in April. He was young and well-liked. I didn't know him personally, but I know many who did. No one has a bad thing to say about him.

Channel 24's story:

This job will likely be a bit of a change. Channel 24 is the distant #4 news station in town. Equipment is a bit meager. But they're improving.
