Pause for Station ID on the Phillies Radio Network

Live play by play universally seems to carry a 10 second pause for station ID n anything carried by 2 or more stations.

I don't know if that's based on practicality, or an FCC induced 10 second parameter.

A "fantasy" I've had during the Phils latest run toward history leads me to something I'd love to see next year on the Phils radio network.

Harry's final call of last year's Series win remains alive and well.

If they are able to win the next 2, I'd love to see next year's WPHT ID include back to backs calls by Harry and Scott, maybe taking 20 seconds or so. Like, this is the Big Talker, then Harry, then Scott, then WPHT, Philadelphia, home of the back to back world champion Phils.

This season will soon be past, and you don't want to dwell on the past, but that's a way to take a station ID to an emotionally grippng powerful level.

Good idea for a liner, but the legal is only about ten seconds, tops.

If you've noticed, they've already started phasing out the TOH ID sampling Kalas and referring to the "World Champion Phillies" and started playing a new one echoing the old slogan, "The Delaware Valley's Number One Station For Conversation..."

The FCC doesn't care how long of a window the ID has, just as long as it's done.

99.9% of every syndiated show available to a station has a :10 window for a legal ID at :59:50 - Rush, Hannity, ESPN Radio, etc. They can do whatever they want during a live show, but between syndicated shows, it's :10.

10 seconds is pretty much the industry standard in anything on multiple stations.

Aren't most syndicated shows that are on a clock (i.e., not sports play by play) in local avail time from :57 to :06 anyway, if not longer?

Stations down the shore used to sell those IDs...

"WIIN, Atlantic City. Albany Lincoln-Mercury has end-of-season clearance prices on all new Lincolns and Mercurys. Albany Avenue Boulevard, West Atlantic City." Repeat every half-hour.

And after last night's game, it appears it will stay that way...
