DirecTV said they were going to shut it off after February 28. I expect that to mean tomorrow, March 1.

Not immediately. I expect some kind of notice will occupy that channel for several days or weeks.

Technically, DirecTV doesn't have to replace Pax. They can just deactivate 255.

What I would like them to do, though, is add American Life TV.
______________

Here's another suggestion....

You know how DISH Network gives you the option of the WB stations in NYC, LA, and Denver as well as the UPN stations in Boston and NYC--why doesn't DirecTV do something like that?

Because that is a "national superstation package" add-on, created when those stations were independents.

DirecTV wouldn't be able duplicate that because those are now only available to subscribers who either had the package before those stations went WB/UPN or live in an area where there is no WB/UPN affiliate available with their local channels.

Those channels, therefore, cannot be replacements for Pax.

Re: Here's another suggestion....

It may not be a replacement for I/Pax, but directv is adding (suppose to) BET Jazz today on channel 330. Since its after midnight, they may have already, aswell a taken off I. Not sure if its always done at midnight, or sometime during the day.

They're together now, when I checked at 1:05 PM Eastern.

And, guess what they're showing?

R. Kelly's "Trapped in the Closet -- chapters 1-12" saga. Last time I checked, this song was not even close to being considered jazz.

I sure hope DirecTV adds the other MTV/BET/VH1 digital networks to the lineup soon.

More than likely Fox's new business channel will replace PAX on DTV.

The Superstations are the *only* thing I miss about DISH.
