Pax rebrands - Friday will Change name to "I"

As far as Providence goes, I heard that WJAR will soon stop doing the 7:00 and 11:30 repeats of their news on Pax69 in the next month or so. They would air the news live on Pax at 6:00 if NBC was airing some kind of sporting event. I'm not sure if this goes for all NBC stations that air their news on Pax.

Sorry John. Seems like your sh*t out of luck when it comes to making a mad dash to your TV to watch News Channel 10, er uh, NBC 10 News repeats on Pax. Especially on Sundays, if you miss NBC 10 News at 6:00, you might be forced to switch to WPRI at 6:30...or watch that Rhode Island News Channel mess. I know you will do the latter of the two!

In Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, the Pax affiliate would air repeats of WNEP's newscasts. WNEP is the ABC affiliate. The NBC affiliate (where I worked) wasn't smart enough to take advantage of the opportunity to air their own news on a sister network affiliate. I heard Nexstar didn't want to spend any money, which isn't a surprise.

That's not even a concern of mine. I'm hoping that PAX 26 New London doesn't stop airing rebroadcasts of NBC30 News in Hartford. I like to watch the out of market station here at home.

Does anyone know if "I" will be on for more than 6 hours a day?I know they are dumping thier religious programing.

Also, Will WPXQ-69 be able to pick up WB at all? Although I dought it.I know WJAR had WB programming on WLWC when they ran that station.Prior to WLWC going on the air WJAR ran WB programing late Saturday or Sunday Nights when they were only on 1 or 2 nights a week.

Yeah, that is a good point about the Hartford Pax affiliate. If I can get Pax 26 on my rabbitt ears, I watch the repeat of WVIT's 11:00 newscast. I hope they continue to rebroadcast the late news as well.

Channel 26 no longer broadcasts WVIT news.<P ID="signature">______________
