Pax TV To Rebrand as "i"

Call the fire department, this network is going down in flames ...<P ID="signature">______________

sure, why not?

As a former PAX staffer, I would say this could be a good idea. Look at the Nashville Network, now known as Spike, as a model. PAX programming, at best, was uninspired and not terribly interesting to most people. There is precious little that would be worth keeping. No buzz with the public. If there were some really forward thinking executive types out there, they might want to consider some type of i/WB/UPN merger. Cherry-pick the best programming from each one, and maybe you could cobble together a "network" that could actually be viable. Let the stations that are not O and O's go back to be real, solid independent stations in their respective markets. A win-win deal all the way around...

What would it take to make it "E!iE!iO"?

Could Gore's new "Current" network benefit by hooking up with "i"?

With Pax saying "the new "i" brand reflects the Company's new network programming strategy - to provide an independent broadcast platform for producers and syndicators who desire to reach a national audience," could Al Gore's soon-to launch "Current" cable/sat network gain more exposure?

Not bloody likely

Answering the tongue-in-cheek question with a tongue-in-cheek answer:

Both E! and i would have to have second channels with the same brand, and simulcast all four with Oxygen.

Like anyone else who would want to run a program on "i", Current could certainly pay for the airtime.
