Pay No Attention...To That Man...Behind The Curtain.

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain...is it the Wizard of Oz......or merely, Bobby Ewing taking a shower??
With CC completely Bumfuzzled at the flip, flop, & flounder of their newly/already a year old now, HAWTT AC formated MY 102,
what in the Flyin' Fudgecake is next. Whether to hold current or go all Christmas, and plot during the downtime of what to do,
...oh what, oh what to do? Could they return from their Christmas pause, and much like Bobby Ewing, return to their old standard AC format, as if the last year Never, Ever,...Ever happened. (All together now) Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
Or...will they spend the downtime overhauling the aimless to find the target? As much as I disagree with the all Christmas plan, MAGIC can only do well. However, CC may not have much of a choice, as they are one year in, and still...not ON!
So, Think Tank Members, therein...rezides an Enigma. Whatchee Think?

They will go all-Christmas and I predict come back as currently are. Whether they will be around for another Christmas after this one, who knows.

They will not go back to AC. You don't go back to something that was not working (that's common sense, but not that what is currently being done is much better); but it would also be quite embarrassing and be like admitting you made a mistake. Very few broadcasting companies would admit they made a mistake, even if they did.

I have to disagree with Magic doing well with all-Christmas (if you mean in the numbers), but it will be great for billing. Neither 98.9 nor 102.5 have seen the typical all-Christmas ratings bounce that most who do it get for several years at least. It probably sells well, but I don't think all-Christmas is that popular in Greenville these days.

AC stations to go All Christmas. To sacrifice or otherwise, just shoot holes in your chance to net a good Fall book. To completely vary away from what you are known for. To pee in the Cherrios of those who just woke up. To grind the Dumb, but Festive into the already Road Rage-ed. To give that Consultant some time off, pointless from the boney finger of blame. So, both CC & Entercom want the Official Christmas station, yet neither have hand-written permission from Santa. To me, the AC's shouldn't be such hogs about it. How bout giving Whistle or Rock 101 a chance to be the Official Christmas station! Heck, The Planet ain't gonna have much of a Fall book anyway;...now there's an idea!
Oh, Fa-La-La, Can't Touch This, and You're A Mean One,...Mr. Lesley!

The reason stations like Magic go all-Christmas is because the demographic that station targets (Females 25-54, probably more like F35-54) is the demographic that eats Christmas music up (well, in most markets, not in this one, but I'm sure it bills well). Rock 101 is targeted towards 25-54 males and Planet 18-34 males. Those audiences don't want to hear all-Christmas.
