Pay Rate

I'd guess about $10-15 for part timers...although I'm sure Mark & Mercedes make a little more ;)

C'mon all you insiders...you know what each other make...I knew what we all made at KORK in the mid 70's - early 80's...and that was in the days of "Personality Radio"when you were paid to be entertaining...now that there is no "Personality Radio", so I was wondering what the pay is for essentially "music only", station ID drop-inners.

I was making $8.00/hour @ KXNT....and (very happily) making $14.40/hour @ FOXNews 1280.

Thanks J.D....not trying to put down people, just show that the industry is now geared for those who must really love radio because you'll never make a living at it unless they're either young , single, or just starting out...and if that's the case, look at an experienced guy like J.D. and assess your chances...If I had known, I would have sought to stay a bigger fish in a smaller pond ( Montana) where you can live well, enjoy a community-based station at a more relaxing pace , and possibly be in a beautiful spot in the country...Here is where youth isn't served...if you're happy & successful, stay where you are and enjoy it...Climbing the ladder, going from the "minors" to the "majors", isn't what you may expect it to be...No regrets on how it all shook out, just a little hindsight that only the experience and circumstance can give you.
