Payback at KGB

;D Just heard the following train wreck on KGB Friday afternoon 2:00 - the traffic reporter who's now fumbling through middays left his mic open during the last break. You could hear him and someone else trashing the former boss Jim Richards, calling him "the anti-christ" for making jocks voicetrack. Then someone ran into the studio and told the genius - thinks his name is Rich Lawarence - that his mic was open! HAHAHHA KGB takes one on the air - that's what you get for firing the talented people like Ruth 66 & Bobbie Hill.

On DSC this morning they had Ruth 66 on the phone as Emily stumbled her way through the traffic report. It sounded like it was a cheap shot set up to make Emily nervous so she would stumble - then they had Ruth on the air talking about "it's harder than it sounds..." (which actually it is not since Metro traffic has for years been taking people with no on-air experience and teaching them how to do it - traffic reporting is a pretty formulatic process so once you get the rhythm, it's a matter of repeating it over and over and over and so on).

It sounds like the DSC show (which is really mostly D with giggles from S and sports jokes from C) is going out of its way to PO management. I'm sure the other 30 or 40 CC San Diego people who lost their jobs wish they had someone using a CC station to try to get their jobs back. If I were one of them and someone on the KGB morning show got their backs after these stunts, I'd be calling a lawyer for sure.

As for Rick Lawrence: he's been doing traffic for a long time and is usually pretty good in sounding like a Cal Walker wannabe :)

I was surprised it took them this long to put ruth on the air like that. Other than sleeping in for the last couple days its not as if he had a whole lot going on. At one point Emily said she felt like a traitor for reading the traffic since that used to be ruthie's domain.

Taking swings at local management like that is futile and won't change anything. It's Mark and his golf-course buddies that swung the hatchet, not Uncle Bob.
