Payola in the news!

It's all over All Access and network news. Looks like old JLo didn't test out all that well in the callouts like we thought!

Sony is coughing up 10 million in New York state for paying the radio "spin doctors" to do what their name implies. Just so it's the right thing their spinning!

Memos from JLo's label Epic said $1000 for spins in the TOP 23 markets. Don't know why that odd number, but somebody wanted to make sure Pittsburg got in on the big action. Markets 24 through 100 got $800! If anybody took this deal in Lexington, KY they made out over the guys (or gals) in New York or LA who theoretically took the payo for the JLo! Cost of living difference kicks ass! A grand in New York gets a parking place for a month. $800 in Lexington gets an apartment for a month!

The FCC is proud as punch of the boys in Albany, NY and they want a full blown FCC investigation! Not only about pay for plays but about toys like TVs, cameras, trips and limos!

Question of the week: is this a little isolated memo malfunction or might we be reading a local version of this in the Times Union?

The Soup reporting.

I'll bet our friend Martha Stewart (from the N Florida board) has been wondering if he/she will be following in the footsteps of the former prison diva! I have to wonder who was picking up the tab for all of those trips to the west coast (among other things) ....hmmmmm! It would be a shame if someone knew something that could be incriminating!

Stay tuned! This could really get interesting!
