I'm not going to name any names or stations here but anyway:
My local alternative station had a competition that ran for a week. Everyday you had to be the first caller when the new 30 Seconds to Mars song was played. These callers then competed in a on-the-air trivia contest for a trip together with the Dj:s of the station to Vegas to see a show with the band.

I was thinking that payola was a thing of the past because the labels don't have any money left but apparently....
