And then there were all those that became hits simply because of listener demand. Best examples of this: all those early '80s "misses" that were reissued in the late '80s, thus finally becoming hits about five years after their initial releases.
I don't think those two were ever reissued. At least they never made the top 40. "I Melt With You" got some renewed publicity from being used in fast food commercials. "What I Like About You" made #28 in 1989, but it was a cover version by Michael Morales, which in my opinion was better than the original.
