PB&J NOW HAS A WEBSITE

The name of the programming service is simply "PBJ" rather than "PB&J", which has a better chance of reminding folks about peanut butter and jelly. I do not understand why the name "PBJ" was chosen anyway.

Not 100% sure, but I think it had something to do with trademarking.

They probably couldn't trademark "PB&J" because that would already have too common a usage, like most commonly used dictionary words, names of foods, city names, etc.
That's why companies take names like "Sigilent" and "Agilitonic" lately*.

Names made up to avoid copyright infringement. No harm to any actual company is intended.

I believe their original plan was to be PB&J......they must have decided to just be PBJ.

Another reason? An ampersand does not do well on the Internet or in TV listings at all. A&E has to be known as "AE" or "A+E" through web searches because the Internet address system uses the & character for addressing (and their web address is aetv.com for obvious reasons), and search engines use it as a search modifier (the only good way to get to A&E Wikipedia articles is a backwards Google search, because using A&E in their search engine takes you to a 'none found' page; that's why A&E Networks is now rendered A+E Networks instead in their press releases). Better for them to just call it PBJ and avoid all that hassle.

We always referred to a peanut butter & jelly sandwich as a PBJ instead of a PB&J anyway. Kinda like a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich is a BLT.

They couldn't call themselves HB&J (actually, I think it's just HBJ) either, since even that's taken!

I get this channel FTA and like it, but with so few stations it would make more sense to morph it into RTV as a daily morning block.
