PBA proposes to take over WREK

AETC/PBA is proposing to take over WREK main channel programming from 5 am to 7 pm. The proposal would fund an equipment upgrade to HD Radio, including HD Radios for students. GPB has been making similar overtures.

Needless to say, no one at WREK supports the proposal. We're planning to install a new FM/IBOC transmitter next year on our own funding. Note also, unlike other stations, WREK's FCC license is held by a student-controlled entity.
