PBS Newshour

I watched tonight and am really liking the format, if this is how it is to be going forward. I had stopped watching after they moved the news roundup from the beginning of the show into the 10 to 20 minute after spot. Tonight, they did the news roundup right at the beginning before moving on to the long form stories. I really prefer it.

I think both these anchors have a
refreshing symitry-and-also a
cordiality, something I hadn't seen
in all those years of the Newshour.
An actual news summary, well Monday
evening it was around 30, but seems
to jump around. In the most recent
layout, it was after the first
subject. In the last year or 2 its
been really anoying how an order of
items billboarded in the daily
e-mail or at a beginning of the
program, sometimes an order is
lopsided. Also in the old days
anytime they changed subjects, they
played bumper music. So its a
challenge occassionally if you want
to record an individual item,
to know when it will showup.
Now as I'm typing, they are running
a news summary at 606PM It would be
really nice if PBS would putup
earlier archives of the show, which
only go back to around 2004?
But back in the early 90s you could
buy VHS, but unfortunately I wasn't
able to purchase the longform
coverage of beginning of the Gulf
War.

Looking forward to watch Judy Woodruff solo anchor the newscast on Fridays, starting tomorrow.
