PBS SoCal cuts 10% of workforce
The Los Angeles station is absorbing the loss of $4.3 million in federal funding.
KOCE-TV cuts 10 staff members and yes the CPB recissions are cited that lead to the decision.
PBS SoCal in Los Angeles laid off 10% of staff last month, amounting to 10 positions across the organization.
“Over the past several months, we have carefully reviewed our operations and made strategic decisions to ensure the organization’s long-term sustainability,” said spokesperson Allison Gray in an email. “We are deeply grateful to each of our colleagues for their contributions to our mission. PBS SoCal remains focused on building a sustainable public media organization, strengthening our digital capabilities and continuing to serve as a leading contributor within the PBS system.”
