As do Flint / Saginaw / Bay City:

WDCP ch.19 / WDCQ ch.35 (Delta College)
WCMU ch.14 (Central Michigan Univ.; all its repeaters are in the Traverse City / Cadillac market)
WFUM ch.28 (University of Michigan)

Depending on how you count it, and on what counts as a "PBS" station, New York has five:

WNET (13) Educational Broadcasting Corp.
WLIW (21) Educational Broadcasting Corp.
WNYE (25) NY City
WEDW (49) Connecticut Public TV
WNJN (50)/WNJB (58) New Jersey Network

WNET and WLIW have full-market cable coverage. WNYE is carried within a smaller radius of NYC, and WEDW and WNJN/WNJB are carried primarily within their home states, plus a few border-town systems. I know of no cable system that carries all five.

Then there's San Francisco, also with five:

KQED (9)
KRCB (22)
KMTP (32)
KTEH (54)
KCSM (60)

KQED has full-market coverage, and KTEH and KCSM reach most of the market on cable as well. (KCSM went DTV-only from Sutro Tower a year or so ago, then put its analog transmitter back on at very low power from the College of San Mateo campus.) KMTP isn't actually a PBS member, if I remember correctly, but carries other public TV offerings and a lot of Deutsche Welle. It's carried on most systems within about 30 miles of The City. KRCB is carried only up in the North Bay.

Five, sort of, in DC:

WMPT (22) Maryland Public TV
WETA (26)
WNVT-DT (30) MHz Networks
WHUT (32) Howard U.
WNVC (56) MHz Networks

WMPT and WETA are traditional PBS outlets. WHUT airs some PBS programming and other community shows. WNVT and WNVC are off on another planet, programming mostly foreign-language shows. Neither, if memory serves, is a PBS member station, though they're co-owned with WCVE/WCVW in Richmond, which is.

Four in Los Angeles:

KVCR (24)
KCET (28)
KOCE (50)
KLCS (58)

KVCR is carried only in San Bernardino and Riverside counties, and KLCS is the LA schools station.
______________

Chicago also has three:
WTTW (11) Window to the World Communications
WYCC (20) City Colleges of Chicago
WYIN (56) NW Indiana Public Broadcasting

As does Indianapolis, although none completely covers the market:
WFYI (20) Metropolitan Indianapolis Public Broadcasting, Indianapolis
WTIU (30) Indiana University, Bloomington
WIPB (49) Ball State University, Muncie

PBS (Los Angeles)

However, all four are in the Los Angeles market, which means KVCR is carried on DirecTV and Dish Network not only in the San Bernardino-Riverside area, but also in Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura counties. Technically, a satellite subscriber in Bishop, far to the north, would get all four PBS stations due to that area being part of the Los Angeles television market.

KLCS carries the least amount of PBS programming of the four.
______________

PBS in Colorado

Hi everyone:

Denver has two PBS outlets, however through a network of translators, they have coverage throughout much of Colorado.

The listing is as follows...

KRMA 6 Denver:
==============

KRMA 6 (Flagship Outlet - Denver) KRMA-DT 18
KRMJ 18 (Grand Junction) KRMJ-DT 17
KTSC 8 (Colorado Springs/Pueblo) KTSC-DT 26
KRMU-DT 20 (Durango)

Then there's KBDI 12 which, while they don't list translator stations on their website, undoubtedly has similar coverage via cable and satellite.

That's the story from here. LIVE from Denver....

Cheers :)

Most I can find is Sioux Falls, South Dakota with 8.

KCSD-23, KDSD-16, KESD-8, KPSD-13, KQSD-11, KTSD-10, and KUSD-2. All of which simulcast. Oh, #8 is KSMN-20 in nearby Worthington, Minnesota.

That doesn't count translators.

(I suspect if you count translators, Salt Lake City would be #1. Even without them, the market has 3 full-power PBS stations - all with overlapping coverage - and all VHF.)

A bit further north, Fargo, North Dakota has 5.
KFME-13, KGFE-2, KJRE-19, and DTV-only stations KMDE-25 and KCGE-16.

Depending on the weather, in Athens, Ga., I can get:

WGTV 8 Georgia Public Broadcasting
WPBA 30 Atlanta Public Schools
WNTV 29 South Carolina ETV
WUNF 33 UNC-TV

I get a few more affiliates of those stations, but it's nice to have the four feeds.

I know it's been beat already, but I believe Cleveland/Akron has access to the following:

[25] WVIZ Cleveland
[27] WBGU Bowling Green
[30] WGTE Toledo
[49] WEAO Akron (simulcast with [45] WNEO Alliance)
[54] WQLN Erie

In parts of the Watertown market, I would imagine that you could get up to four PBS stations, including [16][18] WPBS/WNPI, [24] WCNY, [33] WETK, and [57] WCFE.
______________

Though the Cleveland market itself only plays host to 25 and 49 (the latter actually relaying a station originating in the Youngstown market).

I'm inclined to say three -- I don't think WETK's signal makes it as far as Massena, the northeastern corner of the Watertown market. I know for certain that Time Warner there doesn't carry it (WPTZ is the only Champlain Valley channel on the Massena system).

Unfortunately, in Rockford, Illinois (where I was born) has no PBS station of its own, even though if my memory serves me correctly, the Rockford School District cable access channel carried some PBS programming when I last lived there. However, the Rockford market does get Chicago's WTTW and Madison's WHA via cable (some can even get WHA by antenna). I think Rockford is the only PBS-less market in the country, at least east of the Mississippi.

Milwaukee has two, and they're co-owned by the Milwaukee Area Technical College:

WMVS Channel 10
WMVT Channel 36

10, obviously, is the main PBS station, while 36 is the secondary outlet. Even though Milwaukee Public Broadcasting is not a member of the statewide Wisconsin Public Television network (flagship--WHA in Madison), MPTV does carry some selected WPT programming, especially since Time Warner Cable Milwaukee dropped WHA a few years ago, but to later reinstate it on the digital tier--Channel 559.
