Radio must really be boring in PC this month....anything cool happening? Rob? What about an update of frequencies and formats and your take on how they all sound, etc? CCENG - hell, even a strobey update possible? Never seen the likes of so much inaction on this here bored.

Didn't Charlie go off to a ham radio thingy for some excitement?

ok....here is an update from PC.....

1. yes I went to Dayton OH to the largest hamfest in the USA last weekend....flew up on Thursday and came back Sunday .....30,000 hams and plenty of cold beer

2. The strobeys on the Owenwood Rd tower (WPAP, WFSY and 97X) were repaired Monday night (actually very early Tuesday morning)....thus, those 3 stations were off the air for a short period of time right after midnight.

3. There will be an inspection of the Coast Guard communications antennas on the tower that also holds WFLA (94.5) and WPBH (93.5) this Sunday morning starting around 6 am....those 2 stations will be off the air for a couple of hours this Sunday morning......so much for a quiet weekend....

4. That's about it....but that could change soon.......stay tuned Rob!

5. Oh one more thingy....this isn't PC news but it ain't that far away....I hear the FCC inspectors walked into WTOT/WJAQ in Marianna this afternoon around 1 pm......no news on what they found.......................................................................................but I am sure there is plenty to choose from..............they might run out of paper taking notes................................................................can you say oh sh*T?

I think that in a "worst case scenario", WFSU would pay something for the WJAQ license. That would free up the 106.1 translator for WFSQ's Classical Music.

If the WTOT license went dark, would Pensacola's WRNE 980 be able to upgrade it's signal significantly?
