Any brave souls want to make a prediction.

My prediction WPAP on top as always and a CC takes the top 3 with The Beat and Sunny.

Got to say I nailed that one. Things are as they should be, Styl.. Magic getting trounced all over the dial.

Looks like a good day for the Clear Channel camp. Wave seemed to do pretty well too. Wouldn't want to be on the island staff right now.

Would you ever? That whole building needs to be emptied and deep cleaned no survivors on any station. All garbage.

Wave did great! Too bad Crystal Presley moved to D.C. she kept that station together. Magic making big mistakes in every market..more changes from what I have heard...even in LA..where do they find these managers?

cc did awesome overall.....but while ur giving out props to cc...did we forget about the fox?? can't imagine them celebrating over there! i think all of the fox's voicetracked staff gets to sip on left over champaign from the "sunny-pap-beat" party.

magic isn't the one that should be worried. all three on-air employees over at double o should probably be getting demo's ready. do the market share average of the three company's and you'll see that double o has half of the market share, compared to magic, on fm radio. how long can double o survive on $3 spots? i guess we'll find out. ???

So who do you blame for the Magic Debacle? Styles or the new blood? All stations down and heads surely about to roll at Island. And I see no future for anyone in that building on Laird. Everyone at that building should be scared. But who is to blame.

As for Double O, they were never gonna do any good. Look at the staff it is completely made up of retreads from market 240.

And since Steve is unemployed again, (I will throw this out there) B 95 made the book. Party over at Bay Point.

remember the ratings are all balanced from fall 05 and spring 06.....so if you look at the current number:

pap-down
beat-down
talk-down
island-down
pfm-down
x-down
kat-down
arrow-down

this book belonged to wave and sunny (and dare i say B95???)

...u do the math...

yea both cc and magic need improvements...so what...should magic gut a station like you said???
maybe, if you have a chip on your shoulder!

I have not seen the numbers but I am not surprised at some of the stations being down. Arrow, for one, has not updated their imaging since I left almost 2 years ago. Zeus has an easy gig on his hands with them these days. He used to get 4-5 pages every couple of weeks and now he gets the occasional 30 second promo to cut. That is sad! Classic Rock needs to be kept fresh by weekend gimmicks and good imaging. They dumped 40 minute marathons in favor of 2 or 3 songs followed by the same 5 or so rotating advertisers. No more block party weekends, complete albums on the weekends, etc. JB&B abviously does not have a board op because it is plagued by dead air and over-filled breaks. The Saturday JB&B show is always off, breaks are always overfilled but I guess they do not listen to it. Well, I don't either anymore. I am tired of hearing the same sweepers that have been playing for almost 2 years now. Smooth Jazz is the same, there are :05 dead segments where liners are supposed to fire and they don't. Haven't fired them in ages, goes to show they do not listen to their own stations. Glad I am out of it, permanantly at my own choice. Happier now, much richer too!

I also just noticed Double O just lost their website domains. Arrow is now a hunting site. Smooth Jazz is a jazz site but it doesn't look like a radio site, just a generic one. Kat and PFM don't exist either, but they haven't since they went on the air.

Weren't the brains behind Double 0 a group of prestigous top-notch radio executives? Isn't it funny that they blow their own
horns when they launch these stations and promise so much garbage and deliver a joke of a product that ends up being
a shoestring budgeted skeleton that does pitifully in the ratings. I recall after the launch of WPFM that the website said
that a new exciting website for WPFM was coming soon. It never did. While a website certainly doesn't make or break a
radio station, things like this that are overlooked are good examples of a lazy company that cuts corners and doesn't try
to really reach for listeners.

Double 0 is the real joke of Panama City. You can trash Styles, but you have to shake your head at a group that has no
websites, no real staff, no commercials over $5 and no future other than mounting debt.

In the future, you should refer to that cluster as "Magic" not "Styles." Kim Styles is no longer part of it.

Kim Styles had that cluster at No. 1 last Spring - with one less station than Clear Channel. But since she departed, it's now fallen back to a distant No. 2 - and her name has been removed from the company.

Magic's 18-34 stations are struggling all over. You can see that Island, X, and WKMX/Dothan are all down. Kim was always really involved in helping her 18-34 targeted stations properly market and promote their stations. Her absence is clearly noticeable in the sliding ratings.

Youre right. I was figuring in the ratings period included some time during Styles. Not being anywhere near PCB, what actually has happened
to Kim? Tom? Who owns it now, etc? Seems like I saw a few posts on it all some time ago, but I didn't focus in and study
it. Why is it so bad, so quickly? Kim (and/or Tom and Kim - are they still married??? seems like I heard something on that,
but I can't remember - gettin' old) and will they make another grand return to the top? Interesting that they took shots
for being small town operators and yet Magic has done worse. Thanks in advance.

Looks like Don McCoy has driven the former Styles stations into the ground...he bought out Kim & Tom and forced them out of their own company...

check out www.donmccoy.com and you'll see his wonderful track record and illustorious career. ???

I remember him, but just barely from my time at the "real" PFM. Can't say that I got a real good or bad vibe form him.
The website's sort of out there. Wonder how many hits it's gotten? I am going to assume there is a lot of ego vs.
confidence from successes in life. Anybody worked for him? Why has he "allowed" these stations to falter? What
are Kim and Tom doing these days?

you are so off base with wkmx in dothan, they are down 12+, up number 1 women 18-34, and they have a solid numbers feen in there afternoons "number 1 with the women", trends are showing him gaining mega cume, and wkmx fliped all there listeners in feb, expected to take a hit,in fact as i sit here and read on there nite guy was the only flop of wkmx, as for island they were falling before "kim" departed look at the books for fall 05',

Ok, have we all figured out who Kim Styles and Don McCoy are yet? Any guess to the other identities on here?

.

In PCB, I'm not 100% sure I would say that the one book Island was #1 12+ was because of Kim. Or Tom. Or Keith. Or anyone else at Styles/Magic. That book where Island was #1 12+ was more than likely a fluke. They got kissed by Arbitron. Since the intab of PCB is so low, look at a couple of different books and you'll see that Island is back to where it ought to be. I'm not saying it's a bad station, or that anyone there is to blame. But let's not compliment anyone for what was obviously a fluke book. And vise/versa, no one should really be to blame for this book either.

Now I'm not sure why we're all discussing Dothan here in the north Florida boards, but allow me to chime in.

Mr. (Mrs.?) Poopie...I'm not sure what book you're looking at for Dothan and WKMX, but I'm looking at PD Advantage right now. Remember that this was an averaged book for Dothan...But either way (average or this most recent book only) WKMX is down 12+, down 18-34, down 25-54, even down in the tiny 18-24 demo!...Down in EVERY demo and daypart I can bring up.

Now LAST book as the old WKMX, I do see a couple of demos WKMX was #1 in...18-34 being one of them...as well as 18-24. They were #2 25-54 previous book.

From everything I am seeing, this is the absolute worst book WKMX has had in it's 31 year history. If you'd like to explain to me how and where you are seeing a #1 from WKMX this book, please either post here, or e-mail me off list. My address is in profile. But I'm just not seeing it this book. Obviously we can't post numbers here, but I think we can give ranks (MODERATOR: Is that correct?)
