PD & first on-air talent named at Groove 105.7

To quote Sean Connery in Celebrity Jeopardy, "Not a fan of the ladies."

His quote in AA is: "This is the most exciting format we’ve heard in years and is perfect for Atlanta." Really, you've never been here how do you know what is perfect for us?

He was on the air and ops mgr at an alternative station and smooth jazz station in Las Vegas. So in the world of Clear Channel that makes him perfect to run whatever the hell Groove is.

One last thing, you can tell CC is putting all it's time, energy and money behind this station, their website address is still www.vivaatlanta.com.

www.groove1057.com try it sometime!!!!!
Fair enough. Like most people who use the Internets, I typed Groove 105.7 and did a google search. (BTW, "googling" is not a word nor should it be.) This is what the search brought back: the address to Viva, radio-info and an All Access news article. It seems to me the CC would have someone working there who knows something about SEO so that if a potential listener wanted to find the station better, they would. Here are their keywords in order: "groove, atlanta, music, feel good, retro, new." If you search on those words, the Tongue & Groove club shows up first. I believe Mr. Freeman, should he desire to enter the fray, could explain the importance of SEO.

CC couldn't take the initiative to redirect the Viva website to the Groove website, could they?

The Groove has some big signal problems in some of the most-populated areas of the Atlanta market, even on a car radio.

I'll admit I have not listened extensively to the 105.7 signal since the WGST simulcast days. But it does seem to work most places I've been except on the southside where it is marginal.
I also question why they are trying this particular format on a rimshot signal.
Is there really no format which is unique or original that would get enough P6+ to make it profitable? What about a pure Americana station? Gameshow radio - give away crap every hour every minute all day long?
Maybe they should try some cannon fire in their imagining......

[EDIT]
Try the Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary or the Oxford English Dictionary.

I'll note that you did indeed find the station website as first choice by googling Groove:

Does the traffic guy, Dyron Ducati, count as being the first "air talent" on The Groove?

I'm sure eventually (if not already), "googling" will become an actual word. After all, they just announced yesterday ON THE NEWS that the word "unfriend" (as in facebook / myspace...etc.) has just become official, according to Webster. With that, in addition to songs called "LOL :)" being made, we might as well just accept google and call it a day.

You will never convince him. HNeil still thinks the internets is a passing fade with little use. He thinks it is Pure Gibberish.

Whoa I didn't expect that to happen! Anyway for those of you who might not be aware of it, the song is really called "LOL Smiley Face", So if you were thinking that's what the emoticon meant? You were correct. Not "LOL" or "LOL Emoticon" or "LOL Symbol"......

....Although I'm sure "emoticon" will soon be added to the dictionary as well ;)

Why did they just paly George Jones (Country) on here, Same ole Me????

They didn't. The song was in a commercial that yes.com is picking up the audio fingerprint of. It is showing up on Q100, Dave FM, and Kicks 101.5's yes.com pages. About a year ago, the Turtles "Happy Together" was showing up. Most likely a commercial promoting a movie was the culperit, as they often use pop music in their radio ads.

I should point out that Mr. Jones has dissed contemporary country music, in addition to rap. He was also one of the voices trying to save WSM-AM/Nashville when it tried to flip to all-sports a few years back.

Thanks for the explanation, big releif....I hate country, and with CC you never know what they are going to pull next. They do need to play other disco songs other than Donna, Barry, The Bee Gees, Amie Stewart, Weather Girls, Gloria Gaynor....
