PD PAY AT TOP 5 25-54 STATION

What would the compensation amount be in Seattle-Tacoma
for PD at one of the top tier 25-54 stations ran by a major
company. Without bonuses and w/ bonues? Thanks

Are you talking about an 'AFTRA' station's compensation?

What ARE the four Seattle union stations? -
- and is John Sandifer still with 'em?

AFTRA?? Since when did that worthless organization get a PD any salary? No talent worthy of being classified as talent ever benefitted from AFTRA.

I'd imagine the pay range varies widely depending on results and how well he or she is able to negotiate.

Radio and Records regularly prints a salary survey each year by market size. As I remember PD salary for a Seattle size market at a top tier station was in the range of 120-150 thousand per year. Program Directors are not represented by AFTRA, unless they are on the air.

By the way, I would venture to say the highest paid PD in town is Kent Phillips at STAR, but not because he is a PD. He probably makes the most because he does mornings and TV too. Eric Powers is most likely number two highest paid, again because he is a successful afternoon talent too. Highest paid off air PD is probably Jay Kelly at KJR-FM, who was stolen from KBSG a couple of years ago. Becky Brenner of KMPS is probably up there as well. PD's of News Talk stations like KIRO and KOMO also are generally at the top of the market pay scale.

Lowest paid? No idea. Maybe the new PD's at KBKS, MOVIN, KRWM, and KMTT.

Highest paid in town is the PD at the WOLF, who also is the group PD for Entercom. Just bought a mansion on the ocean thanks to some nice bonus pay!!!!!
Kent Phillips is a morning talent and TV host, he spends little time as PD. The station has a solid core of adult women, but caters to no one else. Eric Powers should be the highest paid based on ratings and Becky Brenner the lowest based on her ability to fend off a challenger. Sandusky's PD is the clearly the highest paid in the market: MARK KAYE. He is the GM and PD of every station in the group. LOL!

Just kidding. I would hate to be a PD, it is a thankless job. Talent sh*ts on you and so does management. I actually respect em all. Who has been PD in Seattle the longest? Brenner, Phillips, Powers?

The Wolf's PD had money prior to coming to Seattle. His family was in broadcasting and sold to one of the mega groups (I think Citadel) so money wasn't why he came to Seattle. That being said, it would be difficult to fault what he's done with the Wolf. No matter how good a station like KMPS is, they are always vulnerable because they sit alone at the top of the market. They are to be commended for giving Seattle TWO damn good country stations.

What's the point of posting some overnight DJ's myspace?
