I used to watch this show on CBS growing up. I even watched it a couple times when it aired on FOX Family Channel when it first launched. But to put it on Adult Swim? Eh.

I'd rather Adult Swim show "Pee-Wee's Playhouse" over "Saved by the Bell" any day. At least the network is staying somewhat true with the original format of Adult Swim. "Pee-Wee's Playhouse" may be live-action, but there's a lot of animation that goes along with the show. It might make some of the hardcore fans of Adult Swim and Cartoon Network cringe, but at least it kind of fits and the show fits perfectly with their target demo.

I am guessing that Pee Wee holds some sort of record for "Fastest Demise of a Top-Rated Network Series"?The show was always consistenly high in the ratings. I believe CBS pulled the plug within 48 hrs. of the arrest.

I don't know about how fast they cancelled it, but I believe CBS just finished off the season and pulled the plug.

When Pee Wee's scandal occurred, the series was already cancelled on CBS, which planned on showing repeats until the fall schedule started in September 1991. After that happened in July 1991, the show was taken off the air immediately and replaced with another series (forgot which one) until the fall schedule took effect.
