Pensacola - WECM 1490 - Format Flip

I blinked again. Jack isn't alone, another local station has recently changed formats and no one noticed. Pensacola lost it's Standards station. :( They are now playing music in a language that I don't understand, but the PSA's and commercials are in English. Weird Eh? Surfing to the WECM website says they are now "Radio La Picante." I think I had some of that on my Taco last week. The music certainly sounds like the stuff playing in the Mexican restaurants.

Oh well, at least we can still get WDIZ from Panama City.

Move along, nothing to see here.
 
I think you will find more underperforming AM stations, especially those operating with lower power levels located in smaller markets, flipping to some kind of ethnic programming, most notably Regional Mexican as this format seems to work pretty well for those stations...
