People In A Box Remixes Electro-rock Band Spektral Motion!
After meeting at a Nashville, TN musicians’ fellowship, Ryan and Melisa Hovind became close comrades and fast peers of Kurt and Kathleen of People in a Box. The Hovinds along with guitarist Travis Krouse round out electro-rock band Spektral Motion [Ryan (bass, programming), Melisa (vocals, production).]
Originally a punk band in their home state of Illinois, the group decided to change band names and make the jump to an electronic-based band upon arriving in Tennessee. After a few various music collaborations, Kurt and Ryan agreed to a People in a Box trance remix of one cut from their first CD, Get Up and Go.
This marks the first remix PIB has ever done of another band’s song. Melisa explained that several of the songs from Get Up & Go were inspired by the experiences of friends. That’s how break-up song “I’m Over You” was birthed, relating the emotion and frustration of a failed relationship. After moving to L.A. in 2006, Ryan and Melisa are pursuing video production and acting [respectively] and are planning an industrial feel for the next Spektral Motion release.
