Peoria - Regent sells three and buys two. From Inside Radio...The two it's buying - CHR "Power 92" WZPW and hot AC "Mix 105.7" WXMP. Regent's paying AAA Entertainment $12.5 million cash to obtain them. To create room for "Power" and "Mix", Regent's selling three Class A FMs to Independence Media for $2.8 million. Those are rock "99X" WIXO, religious teaching WVEL-FM (101.1) and contemporary Christian "Hope 98.5" WPIA.
 
What about Power 92 WRPW? Is that included in the sale of WZPW, or is the simulcast breaking up? And this is the 3rd CHR that AAA is dumping. What's goin on at AAA? First Hot 106 Providence, then Q96, now Power 92. Hmmmmmmmmmm.Pretty interesting that Regent is buying the former Party 98-5/101.1 killer!
 
I only going throug a sale six months ago. You never really trust the new owners. But, I'm sure everything will work out quickly. It's the unknown everyone is afraid of...
