An Open Letter to Inner City Broadcasting
Borough President Sutton, Mayor Dinkens, Congressman Rangel...
You are respected New York civic leaders. Together you established Inner City Broadcasting, licensee of WLIB, WBLS and other radio stations around the country. The company has been successful. Now your reputation and your company's image is tainted by your association with Air America Radio. As more and more information comes out, it appears that misuse of public funds goes beyond previous management and Evan Cohen alone. It also appears current management and air talent knew more than they originally acknowledged. Air America Radio's conduct is at the very least questionable.
It is time for Inner City Broadcasting to end its association with Air America Radio on WLIB and on ICBC stations in Philadelphia and Columbia, SC. Not only does the AAR scandal tarnish Inner City Broadcasting's reputation, the scandal along with AAR's declining ratings negatively impact the value of the ICBC stations which carry their programming (and thereby decrease shareholder equity).
Both as civic leaders and corporate officers, you have a responsibility to disassociate Inner City Broadcasting from Air America Radio. Pull the plug now!
