They passed him over back when Francene passed away and went with Mandy for the 9 till noon spot. Which I thought Mandy was awesome and best ever host since the show started in 1994. I like Joe but time will tell.

Where is the source for Lach coming back to town? Joe Elliott has a growing "Bring Back Joe Elliott to WHAS" following on facebook that I admit I'm a part of. Joe was and still is pretty popular, when he left the 9pm-Midnight show they claimed no one cared about local talk, yet they ax the Sports show because they wanted to push sports to ..well a sports station, and have local talk. They seemed to have a strange love for Mandy, at least Kelly Carls did. And just had to have her do that show from half way across the country. Insult to many capable local hosts.
They brought Mandy back in the weirdest way possible. Bring Joe back because he shouldn't have been laid off to begin with.

Maybe Doug would come back to WHAS for the 6 PM- 8 PM slot?

Doug would be excellent back on WHAS period. But do you see that happening? I doubt a 2 hour shift could pull him from St. Louis. Seeing as Joe was done rotten years ago by WHAS I think it's their moment to make it up to a degree. especially if they can expand the program at some point.

Funny rush replaced Doug mccelvin show on 840 was in June of 93 when rush moved from then 790 wwky to whas. This was before clear channel owned 790.
And then Doug took over the 9 PM show when Milton Metz retired.After Doug left for St Louis Joe Elliott took over the nighttime show until he was replaced by the syndicated Michael Savage show.Joe still did the Sunday Morning talk show on 840 until he left for WGTK 970.

From my understanding (some people that know Joe) Mr. Elliott maybe filling in here shortly on WHAS, hopefully that 6pm-8pm spot and he lights it up good.
I heard a promo this afternoon on WHAS for Tony Cruise's Monday morning show and he said that Joe Elliott was filling in.Was I hearing this right???

I think Joe did as good as ever this past week on the morning show, if it wasn't somewhat of an audition for the evening show then it's sure a strange occurance. I just wish while they take their dear sweet time putting someone in that spot permanently that they at least have him be present and fill-in at 6pm.

Heard Joe the last couple of nights on WHAS.Really good to hear him again.I hope he will become the permanent host for the 6 PM-8PM show.
