Permanent MTP Host: David Gregory

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28037561/

I don't think this is too surprising -- NBC didn't really have anyone else to put in this slot. Andrea Cramer is the only other candidate I can think of.

The article also notes a change in Executive Producer for the show.

What a terrible move. David Gregory is not up to the job at all. I seem to recall Russert read him the riot act after Gregory had a radio appearance that made it sound all the world like he was drunk.

Bad move.

Andrea Cramer? You mean Andrea Mitchell, right? And certainly not NBC football sideliner Andrea Kremer?

As far as "MTP" EP, I read that Betsy Fischer had re-upped. I recall seeing her on the installment following Russert's death.

That is Andrea Mitchell - the wife of former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan.

I think that David Gregory is a great choice. He did a great job with MSNBC's election coverage with Keith Olbermann. Only time will tell.

He is hosting "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue" on MSNBC at 6 PM weeknights. That show is scheduled to end with Obama's inaguaration.
