Um, Apache's a lot closer to Lawton than OKC...and Apache ain't a "market"! And obviously, they already have a presence in Lawton and OKC.

Exactly. The upgraded signal of KACO may put a secondary signal contour over part of OKC, but it's more of a Lawton signal, though it doesn't completely citygrade Lawton either. As I understand it, Perry is getting KACO as part of the deal to downgrade KJMZ from a C1 at 98.1 to an A at 97.9 licensed to Cache. KACO had a sister station in Bridgeport, TX in KBOC 98.3, which the owner wanted to move into Dallas/Ft. Worth. KACO had to be moved, and KJMZ had to be downgraded in order to accomplish the move.

I thought the Oklahoma City mention was a little far fetched in the R&R report. Either way I figured it would be interesting to see what he does with this one. Anadarko probably needs a hometown station to replace 103.5...

Putting KRPT's old Country format on 98.5 would be a good idea.

Was it KESC the station in Wilburton that was moving their stick to Okemah(Which is close to OKC)at 103.7? If so, Perry needs to look at that and giving KVSP a decent signal over OKC.

Wow! I wonder what class/power/alt. this signal will be if approved?

I didn't get a chance to compare maps... If it had the coverage that KQCV 95.1 does (both of those stations are in the same vicinity) it would be listenable in both OKC and Tulsa... That would take care of both sides of the metro where 103.5 wasn't doing well.

If Perry were to get 103.7, could he shut that frequency down and upgrade 103.5 to get a better coverage over OKC? I was thinking they could broadcast on both 103.5 and 103.7, but he would have to shut down one of the frequencies if he wanted to.

Not likely, at least not without a substantial downgrade at 103.5. Remember, there's a reason most of your powerful FM's in Tulsa and Oklahoma City are second adjacent or farther. Even with KJSR 103.3 being east of Tulsa as opposed to the western tower near Sand Springs, it would be a tough squeeze at best. They'd also have to contend with KOFM in Enid, which is at least as big of a problem even if it's only a class C3.
