"Perry Mason"

I was just wondering----

Did "Perry Mason" reruns have two different packages? I think that my local station, into possibly the early 70s, only ran 1957-63 episodes; later ones might not have been in the package.

Seems that it was (then known as--) WTBS that may have been the first to show Seasons 7-9, including the lone color episode.

Any info on this? Wiki sure was no help.

Not sure, but this link might help...

Worth noting too that the 1st 6-seasons appear to have been the commonly packaged syndication, and that a much more recent DVD package marketed at retail offers previously unseen "scenes"... Wonder if stations are playing DVDs bought OTC ???

In the Boston area (from the 60's through the 70's) WHDH-TV (Channel 5) and the new WCVB-TV (Channel 5) ran Perry Mason, airing the entire series from '57-'66. However, the one color episode (aired on CBS in color from February 1966) was not released in color until the 1980's when WTBS ran it for the first time in over 20 years. The color episode was syndicated in black and white like all the others.

Adding to runs in the Boston market WNDS in Derry NH ran the complete package including the color episode as late as 2005, and in prime-time (8p) towards the end. It ended when they became WZMY.
