Personal Attacks

I come on here to share thoughts and ideas with other lovers of broadcasting however, more often than not its nothing but personal attacks on people.
What happen to the sharing of ideas? Its not like this on the other boards this board is the worst. You can clearly see by the number of post a person
has that they have an agenda I for one am tired of it. It's ok if you don't like a station, format or have a new idea to share but the personal attacks need to stop.

I would say most have no idea what its like to run a radio station today (or ever) and don't know the pressures of those on the front line. I have friends who program Clear Channel and Citadel stations and its Hell I can't even think what its like for smaller groups. I miss my days as a programer but times are different and very difficult I would not want to be in those shoes today.
 
Seems like a lot of times on here, if you say something negative about a station, it's like you're assumed to be someone that worked there and got fired or something. I've been called some people's names on here, ha. Say something positive, and you work for that particular station. I'm sure there are quite a few individuals such as myself that have never even worked in the business on here.
 
I think its great that you share thoughts on radio and have never worked in the business, heck your thoughts really are more fun to hear than those of us that have been in the business. I have found that the more people attack someone in the business on a personal level the person being attacked is a mover and shaker in the industry and is doing things others wish they could do...I think its funny what Radio-Info says about postings "In fact many of the views expressed here are just plain wrong" and that can apply to all of us from time to time.
 
I do not believe that most opinions about hwo stations or announcers do things are personal attacks, jsut opinions mostly by people like myself who listen to radio. As one who has listened to Columbia radio most of his life I feel that gives me license to voice my opinions of what I like and what i don't like and that includes announcers I like and those that need to get out of the business. It doesn't necessarily need someone in the buisness to tell what is good and what absolutely sucks.
 
Well,...(southern prefix)...I said, well...I registered on this board to convey...the truth. The truth...seeing as a small group of spinless jellyfishes (fishi) just didn't have the facts straight. People don't like the truth. When spoken by a credible source it commands accountability,...unearths the incorrect, and points the boney finger of blame. This is Radio Broadcasting, and a Mary Poppins aproach will last about as long as a drag queen at a tractor pull! I tell the truth, and I get a personal attack...from some guy who wanted to blaze a trail in radio, but could not pass the test for the trail blazing license.
All I did was correct the Boob...with facts...glued to the front of a flying sledge hammer. It's the only way they understand. The attack referenced that the station had been successful, after I was shown the door. Facts: I gave a 2-week notice, and quit to open a retail business, and having only a 5-share is failure!!
 
The truth is the truth. I believe most comments on this site are by respectable professionals. The Constitution affords any of us the right to speak what we will although it may be censored by Radio-Info. I know quite of few of the posters on this site and respect their opinions right or wrong. If someone can't take what they consider an attack then broadcasting is not for him or her. You won't survive if you wear your heart on your sleeve or the bad comments are about you and you know they are true....Wake up!
 
LOL. No doubt the truth is the truth. But who on here is the truth detector and what is the truth. You got to wear the big pants to play with the boys thats for sure I've had my share of attacks over my career, my point is that lately the exchange of ideas is being overshadowed by petty matters.
