Personalities on 105.9

I don't know who Ron Bisson is or was...but someone was telling me he was here today talking to management....we have no idea what the format other than it will be older than MIX and JAMZ...I thought oldies...was Ron the morning person at the old 105.9 format? If not where was he when he worked in the market...

Mornings on K92.

Has he ever done anything but country? Can't understand why he would have been over here..we're thinking some form of oldies or classic hits....

Ron was at Cox WWKA "K92" for 19 years. He had a top rated morning show while there. After that he tried his hand at a morning talk show on WORL-AM 660. That was short lived as 660 decided to bring Imus to Orlando.

Bob

We could only hope to get Bill Drake out of retirement!

Mike Harvey certainly is still here, and I would expect his syndicated night show to get picked up.

That is if the format is classic hits......

Right now, he's the fill-in guy for Airborne Traffic for DBO. In fact, he filled in over the holidays for the regular guy.

I think it's jockless for quite a while. CBS ain't gonna spend if they don't have to.

Ex-Koolster's need not apply.

Yeah, we'd hate to have actual professional jocks that know the music, know the market and have market history. Better to voicetrack it with people who have never been here, except to go to Disney, or bring in some folks from out of town who will say Kiss-im-ee, or Altamont-ee Springs.

Or perhaps we'll hire some 20-somethings who think the CCR song really says, "There's a bathroom on the right," and think Alice Cooper is a she.

Good plan.

The talent pool is deep here. Mike Harvey is still here and commutes to Melbourne to do his syndciated shows. I'm sure he'd love to base them here, and his shows would fit at night. Bob Berry is still in town. Now that Brenda Matthews has been dropped to PT midday VT'er at Magic, don't you think she would love to smack CC around? She would sound great. In the same CC building, Dave Kelly of Magic used to produce Harvey's morning show on BIG and also produced Supergold. He knows the music and is a very good jock. What's Tracy Young up to? Bisson's name has been kicked around. There are a lot of good, professional air talents in town.
