I received a heads-up from someone that the other board has a thread about Mad Daddy. I don't have a pw there and you can't hyperlink with the older software they use, so we'll do it here.

They are dated 6-25-59 and are unscoped, quality is variable due to azimuth problems in the source tape from which mine was dubbed. There are two segments, one is approx 22 min, the other 30 min.

I do remenber the tail end of his tenure here at WINS ca1963 and eventhough I was only 6 I was amazed at his ability to rhyme on-the-fly.

Did you know that Mad Daddy used 8 turntables to produce the sound effects for his shows? If you haven't heard these shows, you should listen. You will never hear anything else like these on the radio anywhere.

The two air checks you're referring to are his last two shows on WHK 1420 Cleveland in 6/59. The second to last tape is a complete broadcast, unscoped, and the quality is very good. It includes all commercials, including "City Motor and Transmission Company. Now pay just $39.95 plus parts for a complete motor or transmission overhaul!"

The last tape is not as good as far as quality is concerned, and I don't have the entire show. Maybe it's on that site you linked, I don't know. Seems to me though, that the entire broadcast of his last WHK show is not available anywhere. There are other WHK Mad Daddy shows available but they're harder to find.
