Pete sheppard back on EEI

Good to hear Pete Sheppard back on EEI, if only weekemds. EEI should replace Muransky and put Holley back on middays and team Shep back up with Glen. The chemistry Glen and Pete would have wopuld approach Felgher and Mazz on 98.5 Sports Hub.

They won't do that, but maybe they'll send Muttnansky back to the audio/visual club and put Pete with Merloni. The competition has a fat guy and a jock at the same time period. This would give 'EEI a likeable fat guy and a jock to go head to head with them.

Greash is absolutely horrible. This is one show where 'EEI should be killing them in ratings. I'm sure Muttnansky is the reason that they aren't.

... I listened to Pete a few times this weekend and it was painful. After the Sox game on Friday night, he was doing a fill in for John Ryder. Constant blustering and stammering and yelling. Ryder has a cooler presence and that makes for a better late-night show. Why did WEEI hire him back? There was no one else they could have found for a weekend shift or to do fill-ins? You'd think if he was such a big talent, someone would have scooped him up during the two or so years he was off the air.

Pete does seem to be trying a little too hard. He should know that the Red Sox would never fire Bill James for stating his opinion, no matter how wacko it is. He just wouldn't get off that during the time I listened to him. He's probably hoping to get back to something approaching his old gig by making noise. Pete's biggest strength is his knowledge of the Boston teams, outside of Boston his value drops. It's either the Sports Hub or WEEI. I'd take him over Gresh or Muttnansky.

One thing you have to love about Pete is that he lowers the boom on these knucklehead celebrity callers like Steve from Fall River.
