Peter Werbe for Malloy through Dec 1 - Conservatives, what do you think?

Peter Werbe in for Mike Malloy all this week (Mon Nov 28 to Fri Dec 1 10p-1aEST).

Question below for conservatives, and programmers who think progressive talkers would be better served to refrain from the excessive use of invective adjectives.

Peter Werbe remains calm on the air although he certainly is liberal. He is pleasant to listen to and very caller friendly.

Conservatives who can't stand Malloy and Rhodes, would you listen to Peter Werbe?

If so, what other liberal hosts are tolerable?

I'd have to hear him for myself to tell you whether I'd listen or not. Might depend on what else is on at the time. Big Eddie I can take but he's not my first choice in that slot (by the way, neither is Hannity).
______________

Peter Werbe: Good replacement for Malloy!

I'll certainly be tuning in as of Dec 1st, thanks for the hot tip!
Peter Werbe is easy on the ears, logical and expresses liberal values in a way that complements his Detroit background. Air America is smart to finally target organized labor this way.

I'm too conservative for Malloy, I find him crass and antagonistic. Malloy was a better show back when he was on daytime, but when they rescheduled him to evening his show went to hell. Here's hoping Werbe will permanently replace him someday.
______________

Why AAR didn't sign him to a prime shift as soon as they started up, I have no idea, unless Werbe just didn't want the workload. He's only on 2 hours a week with his current local gig, IIRC (unless he's doing a shift as a rock jock on WRIF's sister station as well, which might be the case). We need more of his intelligent and nuanced approach to talk on both sides of the spectrum.

I don't think that's the case. Werbe is definately ready for primetime. In fact, he hosted the morning show on IE America network two years ago along with Malloy who did PM's. However, Malloy got the AAR gig because he knew Sheldon Drobny, the lib network's founder. I actually liked Malloy on IE America, but find him too bitter, caustic and intolerant on AAR. Werbe might a little to subdued for a late night gig, but he is good one.

If you like Big Ed you'll probably like Werbe. Last night some Bush conservatives actually called in to challange Werbe and he listened and didn't cut them off or argue. After one caller said there are just as many corrupt Democrats as corrupt Republicans, Werbe said, "Get the Democrats in power and I'll be bashing them (too)!"
