Hey, for some reason I can't find it on petitionsonline.com but I started a petition on Saturday and only people I sent it to recieved and signed it. I need to get more people, and who knows if we can make a difference, but maybe in some way we can. I see on that site that New Yorkers have signed the petition 618 times. So please sign here and tell your friends and family! Thank you! Joe

You can try all you want, but they won't change the format back to oldies. I wish you all the luck tho!

I agree with the fella - I'm a Ex-Energy92 Chicago fan and have also grown up listening to WJMK. I TOO signed a peition and that didnt mean ANYTHING to stupid SBS nor does it mean anything to NINE FM!! Let's face it folks... the radio waves of Chicago are finally gone - no quality, no respect for the listeners, ...nothing. Radio is now dead here. Corporate money is what matters now. Easy as that - its amazing how broadcasting companies are SOOO eager to pull stations than ADD them!!!! AND - to add that these SAME companies spend so much money on marketing research to find out what people listen to.... yet don't play it!! Sorry guys but I'm now sticking with my IPOD and CD's.

Scuse me.....

You're hoping to equal New York's 'outcry' over WCBS??

618 names?????

It's possible that more people have WORKED at the two stations in their respective histories than that.

The success story of the two has 618 names out of what....ten million in the NY metro? Truly a tide of public incense.

Yeah, a petition's gonna make a difference. Sign away, boys.

*** same here, i luved energy, i signed the petition, i gave out flyers, it didnt do crap. so im sticking to my internet radio, my satellite radio, and my ipod mini. Chicago radio IS DEAD! shut it off and listen to your own stuff. do research online on what other oldies stations play and start DL boys. You dont know what u have until its gone.

RIP- WJMK Oldies 104.3
RIP- WKIE,WKIF,WDEK Energy 927/5

FYI... These online petitions do NOTHING. A good letter, not an e-mail, does more than one of those online petitions because it's something physical that the person sees on their desk. E-mails and online petitions can be very easily ignored. E-mails, no need to open them. Online petitions, no need to go to them. Letter, oh look, there's a mass volume of paper accumulating on my desk from POed listeners...

I agree with the above that jmk isnt going back or what they will say is...yes we have oldies on hd radio...however to clear up a point e mails and petitions arent much but a petition MAILED to the station has to go into their public file as does any us postal service correspondence. And I Do believe that making nine or zone or whatever aware that their are passionate listeners (2.9 share) out there looking fo r oldies may make the money men at these struggling stations sit up and take notice.

Amen!

Not that letters will help, either, but at least they'll have to be dealt with...and placed in the public file.

Online petitions and message board grumbling don't.
